Sneed Speed Shop opened for business in April 2003 with a focus on sports cars, a goal of helping clients win championships, and a keen knowledge of Mazda’s Rotary engine. In the original 1,000 square-foot workspace in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Chris Sneed, along with the help of his brother Kenneth, made a name for the shop by building winning rotary engine drag cars, fast sports cars and the ability to fix any automotive creation or problem that came through the door. They also designed, constructed, sold proprietary parts for Rx-7s which were tested on the shop’s track and street cars. The brothers expanded their shop in early 2005 to 2,000 square foot facility by taking over the unit beside them. At this time they added a chassis dyno and Kenneth joined as a full time employee as lead mechanical tech. As the business continued to expand they quickly out grew the 2,000 square-foot space and moved to the current stand alone 10,000 square-foot space in Pfafftown in the spring of 2006. The focus of the shop had began to shift from the rotary engines and drag racing into the new MINI Cooper and road racing. With a large population of MINI owners in the area looking to hop up their cars, business really took off and the shop purchased a 2003 MINI S in 2007 to race and develop their proprietary parts line. This MINI was very successful with a best 4th place championship finish in 2009 in Time Trial C with National Auto Sport Association, South East division. With a desire to move into door to door racing, Sneed Speed Shop purchased a 1992 BMW that was donated to the Salvation Army by its previous owner. The car was in rough condition, but ran and drove. Construction began on the “new” BMW in 2009 but it didn’t hit the track until mid spring of 2010. The brothers continued to develop parts for the MINI as well as the BMW and other customer driven projects. The “new” BMW was named Snowwhite for the bright white color she was painted and began door to door racing in July 2010 with Chris at the wheel and winning their first race in Aug of 2010. Since that first win Chris and Snowwhite have won 25 out of the 29 races and 3 regional championship and multiple 3 and 8 hour endurance races. In the fall of 2011 Sneed Speed Shop added a body shop division to their mechanical, dyno tuning and parts manufacturing businesses. The body shop is lead by Austin Tedder a life long family friend of the brothers. Integration of the body and mechanical divisions were seamless as Austin had been doing most of the Sneed body work off site in the years prior. Sneed Speed Shop continues to grow and expand their shop, manufacturing and race programs with Alex Phelps and Johan Schwartz coming on board to help Chris with driving duties as well as pushing to continue to develop the best and most cost effective race parts on the market. In 2013 the parts manufacturing and web business were spun off into their own business unit under Speed Parts Inc. The web business has expanded into MINI Cooper engines and heads, becoming the world leader in remanufactured MINI cylinder heads and custom engines. The manufacturing department continues to produce new race and track tested components for MINI Coopers as well as producing all of the current catalog of Sneed4Speed parts.

JD Customs USA was originally started by Jon in 2015, but it wasn't anything like the JD Customs USA you know today. Jon started out by powder coating custom Yeti cups and made over 630+ custom cups for customers in 2016, which helped fund the transition into car parts. If you scroll to the very beginning of our Instagram page (@JD_Customs_USA), you'll see a few posts showing some of the Yeti cups that he made. On September 7th, 2015 Jon purchased his 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution IX MR, which started to generate an interest in custom car parts that nobody else made, or parts that could be made better for a more affordable price. After making his first ignition system for his own Evo, he realized there was a market for more affordable ignition systems and began to sell them online and locally to other Evo owners. In 2018 Jon started offering titanium hardware for ignition systems and the demand for other titanium parts and hardware continued to grow. At this time Jon was still the only employee of JD Customs USA and continued to run it as a side job. The business continued to grow with the long hours Jon put in while still working a full time 9-5 job. He would get home from work at 5:00 and immediately start knocking out orders for customers. This continued until April 1st 2019 when Jon was finally able to support himself with a full-time focus on JD Customs USA. When COVID-19 hit in January of 2020, Jon was expecting things to slow down and started to worry about the future of the business, but with the stimulus checks coming in and people sitting at home with nothing to do but work on their cars, the business saw a huge spike in sales and Jon could no longer handle it all himself. There are so many choices...brands you've heard of, brands you haven't, one brand looks exactly like another but its $300 less, etc. You read reviews, you search google and you finally settle on two choices and it ultimately comes down to price. But should it?Imagine, you've worked for weeks to save up for your next modification; in this case its the suspension. You can buy a certain brand that the whole internet uses for $895 plus shipping, or you can treat yourself and spend a little extra on a new up-and-coming brand. Which do you chose? If you're still hung up on price...wait a moment...What do you get for $895? You get something that works, and probably well enough for 75% of people. It's generic, no real frills and you have to pay extra for little things like rear camber plates, etc. Didn't you buy your car and modify it the way you wanted to stand apart from the crowd rather than join it? If you're doing what everyone else does, what is there to talk about?The other choice is Flatout. Sure, its a little more than that other brand, but for good reason. You aren't getting some generically built shock. Every single part has a purpose and was chosen for good reason. For example; stainless steel shims, they won't warp and they remain true in the worst conditions. Or the oil inside; most companies just use some generic shock oil that wears quickly or turns to foam rather easily. You want an oil that remains consistent and keeps everything lubricated. There's a lot of metal moving very quickly inside the shocks, that generates a good amount of heat. The synthetic oil inside of every Flatout shock was chosen to preserve the life of the shock and to keep it running for years to come.Another reason to chose Flatout is servicing. Our new X52 shock is user rebuildable. If you don't have the confidence to do it yourself, anyone that can rebuild shocks should be able to do it for you. If you are the DIY type, we can sell you a rebuild kit. The hardest part for you will be recharging the nitrogen, but if you do some digging, that's easily solved. If you can't find someone and you don't want to do it yourself, send it back. We'll take care of it for you for $125/ corner.

Since 2001, Clayton Off Road has been setting the standards for long-arm suspension kits. In November 2002, we became the first suspension manufacturer to offer long-arm suspensions for all four of the major Jeep® models, TJ, XJ, WJ and ZJ. Clayton Walters, co-owner and founder of Clayton Off Road, began operations in a one-car garage, designing and manufacturing rocker-panel protection and bumpers for his own personal vehicle, a Jeep ZJ. In 2001, after driving a ZJ with a 6” lift and a short-arm suspension for a year as a daily driver, he recognized the need for a new suspension system to make the ZJ a pleasure to drive again. In June 2001, Clayton Off Road Manufacturing, LLC was established and debuted its ZJ long-arm suspension at the Grand Slam East event in Gore, Va.
